- Hit Korean dating reality format to be adapted in Brazil as Love Transit, with production set to begin in September

Global IP Powerhouse CJ ENM announced that its hit dating reality format EXchange will be adapted in Brazil as a Prime Video Original, titled Love Transit. Directed by Brazilian television producer Boninho, and produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Formata, the show will begin filming in São Paulo and Campos do Jordão in September.

EXchange, the original format behind Love Transit, is a TVING Original unscripted series about former couples living together under one roof. The participants do not know who each other’s ex-partners are. As they look back on past relationships and meet new people, they must decide whether to reunite with an ex or start a new relationship.

Since its debut in 2021, EXchange has become one of South Korea’s most popular dating reality series. Season 1 recorded the highest viewing hours among entertainment shows on TVING at the time. Season 2 ranked No.1 in weekly paid subscriber contribution for 16 consecutive weeks. Season 3 first day impact on new subscriber acquisition was 74 times greater than Season 1. Season 4 ranked No.1 in TVING’s weekly subscription contribution for 17 consecutive weeks, from its premiere to the final episode.

EXchange has also received recognition at major international awards. The series was nominated for Best Original Programme by a Streamer at the 2021 Asian Academy Creative Awards. EXchange 3 was nominated for Best Original Digital Entertainment Programme at the 2024 Asian Television Awards and Best General Entertainment at the 2024 Asian Academy Creative Awards.

Following its successful adaptation in Japan as Love Transit on Prime Video, which has produced three seasons to date, this upcoming Brazilian remake marks the format's expansion beyond Asia into Latin America.

Sebastian Kim, Head of the Content Business Unit at CJ ENM, said, “EXchange brings together former couples who parted ways, giving them a chance to look back on their past relationships and find new love. Following its adaptation in Japan, we look forward to seeing the format reinterpreted for Brazilian audiences in a way that reflects their local culture and emotions.” He added, “CJ ENM will continue to expand its global format business by bringing more of our original IP to audiences around the world through collaborations with leading platforms and partners.”
