The comprehensive entertainment channel tvN won a total of four gold and silver awards in three categories at ‘PromaxBDA Asia 2018,’ the world’s largest promotional awards event.
'PromaxBDA Asia 2018’ (officially PromaxBDA Asia Promotion, Marketing and Design Global Excellence Awards 2018), hosted by 'PromaxBDA,' an association for promotion, design, and broadcasting, recognizes outstanding achievements for the year in the areas of marketing, design and promotion in Asia. PromaxBDA with more than 10,000 companies and experts as members plays host to the prestigious annual awards ceremonies in the field of broadcast design. PromaxBDA is divided into ‘PromaxBDA Global’ and ‘PromaxBDA Asia.’ At ‘PromaxBDA Global 2018’ held in the first half of this year, tvN’s drama ‘Prison Playbook’ became the only Korean broadcaster to win three awards, attesting to its prominence in the industry.
At 'Promax BDA Asia 2018' held in Singapore on the 3rd, tvN once again drew keen attention by winning a total of 4 awards in 3 categories, including the gold award granted to 'Amazing Saturday' and the silver award given to ‘The Great Escape’ in the 'Best Outdoor or Print' category; the gold award won by ‘Circle: Two Worlds Connected’ in the ‘Best Drama Campaign’ category; and a silver award presented to OtvN Channel ID in the category of 'Best On-Air Channel Branding,' further ratcheting up the status of the tvN channel. It is even more meaningful that tvN won gold awards for the second year in a row this year following the gold medal given to the 'Campus Debate Battle' last year.
'Amazing Saturday,' which won the gold award in the Best Outdoor or Print category, caught the public's attention by carrying out an interactive-type large outdoor advertisement using the space of an elevator under the concept of 'discovery of a new continent.' 'The Great Escape,' which won the silver prize in the same category, drew an enthusiastic response for its 'pop-up secret room' where visitors could experience the key concept of escape by successfully completing a mission in an enclosed space.
The teaser for 'Circle: Two Worlds Connected,' which won the gold award in the Best Drama Campaign category, required filming in 16 locations across the country, including Seoul and Jeju Island to demonstrate the drama concept of 'one event that connects two worlds' with the same composition and different images for two episodes. The teaser video revealing actors Yeo Jin-goo and Kim Kang-woo behind the rapidly changing background conveys the image of a mysterious story and intense tensions, raising anticipations for the drama.
Lastly, O tvN's Channel ID, which won the silver award in the category of 'Best On-Air Channel Branding’ is a channel campaign video linking the interests of the channel targets (males and females of 35-54 years of age) wanting to be also faithful to themselves amid their frantic daily lives with the channel's slogan, 'fun and meaningful.' Under the concept of 'time to discover my true self,’ it designated a new theme and content appropriate for each month to share with viewers a journey to finding 'the fun and meaning of life that is essential for me.' It was accepted by viewers as a heart touching program.
